Portfolio: Automatic contact parsing design in Organizer 5.0 for Lotus

EasyClip is a little application that parses address information and puts it into Organizer. We developed a set of rules to extract the important information and put it in the right fields so you don't have to type or cut-and-paste each word. We recently received a patent for this parsing strategy. Here's an example of how it works:

Step 1.  Select the name and address text in a mail message or other text document.  Without EasyClip, you'd have to cut and paste or type all of this information.

EasyClip example, step 1

Step 2.  To run EasyClip, use the applet that's always running in the Task Bar.

Step 3: EasyClip parses the data.  If the parse isn't correct, you can usually fix it with just a little typing or clicking. Note that the default of 2 lines for the Street field is incorrect for this case (it was the default from the previous parse). Just click the down arrow where the mouse pointer is to change it to 1 line.

That takes care of it. The data is all in the right place with hardly any work.
