Portfolio: Lotus Organizer 5.0 design

Best personal information manager, PC World (1999).
US Patent #6,349,299 for processing contact information directly into Organizer.

Contact management features.  Contact management was a major addition to Organizer in this release. They allow you to keep better track of your interactions with people at work and in your personal life. Meeting invitations are automatically emailed to invitees and you can easily find contacts through Internet directories.

I designed new Internet lookup capabilities the interface for inviting people to meetings. The biggest task was designing the contact-management features, like the History View:

Lotus Organizer contact history page; click to zoom

Left page: Contact information in the History View.
Right page: Details of interactions with this person. (See a larger image)

Other features.  I worked on the LDAP and meeting invitation UIs of this award-winning product. I also co-developed and designed a now-patented contact-parsing algorithm that saves time when you add new contacts to your Organizer file.
