Using Post-It Notes in usability testing and brainstormingAfter a product design session or a usability study, we arrange information on Post-It Notes. It's a low-tech way to manipulate information quickly. The photo below shows part of a hierarchy for a corporate Web site. Orange Post-Its are the top categories of this hierarchy. Brown ones are second-level categories. Yellow items are the topics. Every Post-It doesn't necessarily show up in the interface or the usability study report. Some represent concepts that relate to the overall design; some just get tossed.
