Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need coding skills to set this up?
No. While the initial GTM container setup may require a developer, all Positive User-specific tracking can be implemented through GTM's visual interface. Our ready-made containers make it even easier.
Will this slow down my website?
No. GTM is designed for optimal performance, and Positive User's tracking code is lightweight. The integration typically adds less than 100ms to page load time.
Can I track users without login/registration?
Yes. Positive User assigns anonymous IDs via cookies to track visitor behavior. When users eventually log in or provide their email, all previous activity is linked to their profile.
What happens if someone uses an ad blocker?
Basic tracking may be blocked. For critical conversion tracking, we recommend server-side integrations (like Meta's Conversions API) which are not affected by ad blockers.
Can I track events on specific pages only?
Absolutely. GTM's trigger system lets you fire tags on specific URLs, domains, or based on any page element or user action.
Is there a limit to how many events I can track?
Positive User plans have different event limits. Check your account settings or contact sales for specific limits on your plan.
Can I track mobile apps through GTM?
This guide covers website tracking. For mobile apps, Positive User offers native SDKs for iOS and Android.
How do I know if tracking is working?
Use GTM's Preview mode to see tags firing in real-time. Then check the timeline in any user's profile in Positive User to confirm events are being recorded.
Can I import an existing GTM setup?
Yes. You can export your GTM container, share it with our team, and we'll help integrate Positive User into your existing setup.
What if I need help with implementation?
Our documentation covers common scenarios, but if you need assistance, contact our support team or consult the Knowledge Base for detailed guides.
