Your video strategy and your marketing automation work as one system.

Bridge Your Content Strategy and Your CRM

Trigger Campaigns When You Publish a New Video

Trigger Campaigns When You Publish a New Video

You upload a new video to your YouTube channel. Zapier detects the publication and fires an action in Positive User: send a notification email to a segment, apply a tag, create an event, or kick off an SMS campaign. Your audience hears about your latest video through your own channels, not just the YouTube algorithm.

Monitor Comments and Engage Beyond YouTube

Monitor Comments and Engage Beyond YouTube

YouTube comments are a signal of engagement, but they live inside YouTube. With Zapier, new comments on a specific video can create events in Positive User, fire internal alerts, or tag the video topic on relevant contacts. If someone comments on your product demo, your team can follow up through email or chat.

Use Search and Playlist Triggers for Competitive Intelligence

Use Search and Playlist Triggers for Competitive Intelligence

Zapier’s "New Video by Search" trigger monitors YouTube for videos matching a keyword. Track when competitors publish about your market, log it as an event, and trigger internal notifications. The "New Video in Playlist" trigger lets you react when videos are added to curated playlists.

Get ready fast

Three simple steps to get started

1

Connect Both Accounts in Zapier

Log into Zapier. Select YouTube and "User.com." Authorize both. You need a Google account with YouTube access. For brand accounts, you need to be a channel owner or manager.

2

Choose Your Trigger

Select "New Video in Channel," "New Comment," "New Video by Search," "New Live Stream," or "New Video in Playlist." Then select a Positive User action.

3

Configure, Test, and Activate

Map YouTube data (video title, URL, description, publish date, comment text) to Positive User attributes or event parameters. Test. Turn on the Zap.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need coding skills?
No. Zapier’s visual interface handles everything. No code.

Are the triggers instant?
No. All YouTube triggers on Zapier use polling (every 1 to 15 minutes). They are not webhook-based. For content marketing workflows, a few minutes of delay is typically not an issue.

Can I match YouTube commenters to contacts?
With a limitation. The comment trigger provides author name and text, but YouTube comments don’t include the commenter’s email address. You can use the data for internal alerting and logging, but cannot automatically match a commenter to a Positive User contact unless you cross-reference by name manually.

Can I send a new-video email automatically?
Yes. This is the most common use case. Set up "New Video in Channel" as trigger and "Create Event" as action. Then create a Positive User automation that sends an email with the video title and URL when that event fires.

Can triggers detect private or unlisted videos?
No. Zapier can only trigger on public videos. Private and unlisted videos will not fire the Zap.

Is the data GDPR-compliant?
YouTube (Google) and Positive User both offer GDPR tools. Zapier’s YouTube integration uses YouTube API Services. Comment data and video metadata don’t typically contain personal data beyond the public profile name. Zapier is SOC 2 compliant.
