Amplitude

Bridge the gap between product analytics and marketing automation. The native Amplitude integration lets you send behavioral cohorts directly into Positive User. Identify high-value users, at-risk segments, or specific behavioral patterns in Amplitude, then push those cohorts to Positive User to trigger targeted emails, apply tags, and run personalized campaigns. Your marketing reacts to what users actually do in your product.

Product Analytics Meets Marketing Automation

Send Behavioral Cohorts to Positive User

Amplitude lets you build cohorts based on any combination of user actions, properties, and behavioral patterns. The integration syncs those cohorts directly into Positive User as user segments. Users who completed onboarding, power users who perform a key action weekly, or churning users who haven't logged in for 30 days can all become actionable audiences in your marketing platform.

Trigger Campaigns Based on Product Data

Once a cohort lands in Positive User, you can use it to trigger automations, apply tags, launch email sequences, or update deal stages. A cohort of users who reached a specific feature milestone can receive an upsell email. A cohort of trial users who haven't activated can enter a re-engagement workflow. Your campaigns are powered by real product behavior, not guesswork.

Keep Cohorts in Sync Automatically

This isn't a one-time export. The integration supports scheduled sync cadences, so your Positive User segments stay aligned with Amplitude's latest data. As users enter or leave a cohort in Amplitude (based on their evolving behavior), the corresponding segment in Positive User updates accordingly.

Get ready fast

Three simple steps to get started

1

Copy Your Positive User API Key

In your Positive User app, go to Settings > App Settings > Advanced > Public REST API Key. Copy the API key.

2

Configure the Destination in Amplitude

In Amplitude, go to Data > Catalog > Destinations. Find User.com in the Cohort section and click it. Add a new destination, enter a name, paste your Positive User API key, and map your Amplitude user ID property to the Positive User User ID. Save.

3

Sync a Cohort

Open any cohort in Amplitude, click Sync, and choose User.com as the destination. Select your sync cadence (one-time, hourly, daily) and save. The cohort members will appear as a segment in Positive User.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need coding skills to set this up?
No. The integration is configured entirely through the Amplitude and Positive User interfaces. You paste an API key, map a user ID, and select a cohort to sync. No code involved.

Is this a native integration or does it require Zapier?
This is a native integration built into Amplitude's destination catalog. No Zapier, Make.com, or other middleware is needed.

What Amplitude plans support this integration?
This integration is only available for customers on paid Amplitude plans. It is not available on the free tier.

Does the integration need to be enabled per project?
Yes. You must enable the User.com destination in each Amplitude project where you want to use it. It is not enabled globally across all projects.

What data is sent from Amplitude to Positive User?
The integration sends cohort membership data. When you sync a cohort, Amplitude tells Positive User which users belong to that cohort (based on the mapped user ID). It does not send raw event streams or individual event data. For event-level data forwarding, consider using Amplitude's webhook or API destinations in combination with the Positive User REST API.

How does the user matching work?
During setup, you map an Amplitude user property to the Positive User User ID. When a cohort syncs, Amplitude uses this mapping to match each cohort member to the corresponding contact in Positive User. Make sure the IDs are consistent across both platforms (typically email or a shared user ID).

How often are cohorts synced?
You choose the sync cadence when setting up the cohort export: one-time, hourly, or daily. On each sync, Amplitude recalculates the cohort and updates the membership in Positive User. Users who no longer match the cohort criteria are removed from the corresponding segment.

Can I send data from Positive User back to Amplitude?
The native integration is one-directional: Amplitude → Positive User (cohort sync only). To send data from Positive User to Amplitude, you would need to use the Amplitude HTTP API or a webhook-based approach through Zapier or Make.com.

What are the best use cases for this integration?
The most common patterns are targeted messaging (send an upsell email to power users), behavioral triggers (re-engage users who dropped off after onboarding), segmentation (create Positive User segments based on product usage patterns), and personalization (tailor email content based on which Amplitude cohort a user belongs to).

Is the data GDPR-compliant?
Amplitude and Positive User both offer GDPR compliance tools. Amplitude provides data residency options and a data processing addendum. Positive User includes consent management and data deletion features. Make sure your cohort definitions and sync cadences align with your data processing agreements.
