Google Forms

Stop downloading spreadsheets and importing contacts by hand. Connect Google Forms to Positive User through Zapier and turn every form submission into an actionable contact profile. The moment someone fills out your form, their data flows into Positive User, triggers the right automation, and starts the follow-up sequence you've designed - while the respondent is still on the thank-you page.

Every Form Submission, Instantly Actionable

Create Contacts the Moment They Submit

Create Contacts the Moment They Submit

Someone fills out your lead capture form, event registration, feedback survey, or job application. Zapier picks up the response instantly and creates or updates a contact in Positive User with the form data: name, email, phone, company, and any custom fields you've included. No waiting, no spreadsheet imports, no missed leads.

Enrich Profiles With Every Answer

Enrich Profiles With Every Answer

Google Forms lets you collect any data you want: job title, budget range, preferred product, use case, team size. All of it flows directly into Positive User contact attributes. The more your forms ask, the richer your contact profiles become, and the more precisely you can segment and personalize your marketing.

Trigger Automations Before the Respondent Closes the Tab

Trigger Automations Before the Respondent Closes the Tab

The contact is created and the automation starts in the same moment. A welcome email goes out. A tag is applied based on the form answers. A deal is created in your pipeline. A Slack notification alerts your sales team. By the time the respondent closes their browser tab, the entire follow-up sequence is already in motion.

Get ready fast

Three simple steps to get started

1

Connect Both Accounts in Zapier

Log into Zapier and create a new Zap. Select "Google Forms" as the trigger app and "User.com" as the action app. Authorize both accounts.

2

Select Your Form and Map Fields

Choose the specific Google Form you want to connect. Zapier will pull in the form questions. Map each to the corresponding Positive User attribute.

3

Test and Activate

Submit a test response to your form. Verify the contact appears in Positive User with the correct data. Turn on the Zap.

Setting up the Google Forms integration with Positive User
FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need coding skills to set this up?
No. The entire integration is configured through Zapier's visual interface. You select your form, map fields to Positive User attributes, and activate. No code required.

Is there a ready-made template to get started faster?
Yes. Zapier offers a pre-built template called "Create or update User.com contacts from new Google Forms entries" (template #23888). It sets up the trigger and action for you. Just connect your accounts, select your form, map the fields, and activate.

How fast does the data reach Positive User?
Instantly. The Google Forms trigger on Zapier is webhook-based, meaning the Zap fires the moment a response is submitted. Your contact is created in Positive User within seconds.

What happens if someone submits the form twice?
The "Create/Update User" action in Positive User matches on email address. If a contact with that email already exists, the record is updated with the new form data instead of creating a duplicate. This works well for forms where respondents might update their answers over time.

Can I also use the "New or Updated Form Response" trigger?
Yes. Google Forms offers two triggers on Zapier: "New Form Response" (fires only for new submissions) and "New or Updated Form Response" (fires when a response is added or modified). Use the second option if your form allows respondents to edit their answers after submission.

What form fields can I map to Positive User?
Any question in your Google Form becomes a mappable field in Zapier. You can map text fields to standard attributes (name, email, phone) and use additional answers to populate custom attributes, tags, or even create events in Positive User.

Can I tag contacts based on their form answers?
Not directly in a single Zap step. The "Create/Update User" action does not include a tagging option by default. To apply tags based on form responses, add a second step to your Zap that uses a Zapier filter (to check the answer) followed by a "Create Event" or another action that triggers a tagging automation inside Positive User.

Does this work with Google Forms embedded on my website?
Yes. The Zapier trigger monitors the form at the Google Forms level, regardless of where the form is displayed. Whether someone fills it out on the Google Forms page, embedded in your website via iframe, or shared through a link, the response is captured the same way.

Can I use this alongside Positive User's built-in forms?
Yes. Positive User has its own popup forms and landing page forms that create contacts natively (without Zapier). The Google Forms integration is useful when you already have forms built in Google's ecosystem, when you need advanced form logic (like conditional sections), or when you want to keep form data in Google Sheets and Positive User simultaneously.

Is the data GDPR compliant?
Google Forms, Zapier, and Positive User all offer GDPR compliance tools. Make sure your form includes appropriate consent language, and that your Positive User consent management settings reflect the data collection purpose. Zapier is SOC 2 compliant and provides a GDPR data processing addendum.
